The SAEG Model

By Kirk Harrington, SAEG (Statistical Analyst Effectiveness Group and Guide) Partner

As most analysts know, a good model leads to good results.  Here is the one I have in mind for SAEG (subject to change):

**The message
  • Effectiveness and Efficiency sharing
  • The Guide as the end product (not a book or novel)
  • Analyst tools that can be shared
  • Assist analysts maneuver the waters of corporate life
  • Stories and current analyst topics
  • Principles subject to change, interpretation, re-interpretation
  • Fun!
 What it is:
  • A safe harbor for analysts to ask any type of question (a newbie server on Halo if you will)
  • A place where idea sharing can happen
  • A place where negative experiences can be discussed to turn them into positives; or where positive experiences can be discussed to avoid negative ones
  • A support community for analysts
  • A place where analyst topics can be discussed with sharing of ways to incorporate them into our work
What its not:
  • A place for super smart analysts to show off or bully their peers
  • A place for ads or heated political discussions
  • A place to rant about your managers or co-workers
Other plans (& possible plans) for this effort:
  • A SAEG Council/Leadership with more than one moderator for group discussions
  • Guest topics from supporters of SAEG in the analyst community
  • Analyst history research
  • A logo with promo materials
  • Gaming groups for those interested
